Chicago Cohorts

Three distinct cohorts supporting nonprofits across the Chicagoland area

Empowering resilient, impactful nonprofits across Chicago through capacity building and community

The Foglia Family Foundation launched the first Chicago Impact Cohort in 2018, marking the beginning of a long-term commitment to strengthening nonprofit data capacity across the region.

Since that inaugural launch, two additional Chicago-based cohorts — sponsored by the IMC Chicago Charitable Foundation and the Christopher Family Foundation — have joined the movement, expanding the reach and impact of this model across the city.

Together, these three cohorts have supported more than 75 nonprofits in building the clarity, confidence, and community needed to deepen their impact.

Partner

The Foglia Family Foundation was established in 1993 by Vince and Pat Foglia as a way to give back to the organizations and programs they felt passionate about. The foundation supports organizations that improve the quality of life for individuals and communities through education, health, and human services.

Since launching their first cohort together in 2018, the Foglia–UpMetrics partnership has supported more than 50 nonprofit organizations across the region through hands-on training, peer learning, and access to UpMetrics’ impact measurement and reporting platform.

What began as a pilot initiative has now become one of the longest-running collaborative capacity-building programs in the city.
